CNC 5 - Software

I found this page with good information on some of the software, so I thought I add this link even though I haven't gotten to this point yet. I'll just keep adding pages and links and whatever information I find as it comes along. I'll just try to keep the pages in order so I know what I need to do next or look into.

For designing, I found the design sparks seems to work okay. It has a few minor bugs, but it's much better than any other free program I have tried so it's worth the look.

As for the linux cam software, just check out linux cnc. Many people seem to be using it without a problem, but there is a learning curve.

I may try to use the latest LTS of ubuntu and run virtual box with the linux cnc. I hope that works because when I tried the linux cnc, it didn't pick up a few things and the latest version picks up more drivers than before which is nice. I also accidentally updated the os and it pretty much screwed up things as it updated everything and I lost the cnc stuff. This way I don't have to worry about that and whatever weird setup the linux cnc has.
