Bluedio H+ BT headphones

Bluedio H+
I just received these in the mail and wanted to do a small review on these BT headphones. I just wanted some headphones that I could use with the tv at night. The first thing is that although I chose the non-retail box, I wasn’t expecting them to arrive in one piece. I was very surprised that they did. They were packaged in one of those air bags stuffed in an envelope. So that was pretty nice. Once I took them out, I put them on and the next thing was that although they fit, they are tight and actually hurt after just a moment. Yes they are tight. So this is not something I like. Now for the rest I’ll just add the pros and cons to keep this easier to follow.

Pros:
-They are a nice looking set.

-The feature set is nice as you can also use these to make calls if you really wanted to. I haven’t tried that yet but it’s nice to have all this included.

-I also wanted something I could listen to the radio with as I don’t actually have a radio anymore. I have a cd player with radio on it, but the reception is just okay since I’m in a concrete area. So it’s nice to listen to the radio while I work on the computer without making too much noise. The station scanned fine, and reception is alright, depending on the station and where I am. It seems that the building has a lot to do with the reception in my area because the headphones also go in and out like my cd player. In short, I can have the BT off and still listen to the radio which is very nice.

The sound is just fine for a pair of headphones. I listen to them in a normal volume and I am not trying to blast music into my hears. They can go up a bit louder in volume to the point that they get distorted, but I don’t even go that high so it’s not a problem for me.

Cons:
-They are all plastic so they are easy to break. I saw a youtube video where these tend to break if you’re not careful and it’s right where the earphone moves up and down. I just wished they had used some kind of metal of these instead to make them stronger but also more flexible to make them less tight on your head. Honestly it is unfortunate because it’s hard to keep them on for long periods of time. I mean even for just a few minutes. I just keep them on a box that is about the size of my head, maybe a bit wider to see if they will eventually conform to that. I won’t hold my breath though. I know that you don’t want them too lose, but not too tight either as they are now. At least for me.

-Although I read the instructions, getting this set up was not as easy as you would think.

-To pair the BT you need to have the headphones almost next to the phone which was weird and took me a while to figure out why this thing wasn’t pairing.

-My headphones came turned on out of the envelope so I had to charge it before using it. The blue light was still on.

-The headphones have two on and off settings. When you press and hold the on button to turn on the BT, it only turns the BT on and off. After setting up the radio, I found that you need to press and hold the volume toggle button in order to turn off the radio even if you have turned off the BT. If not, the headphones will stay on. This is nowhere on the manual. Just make sure that nothing is playing on the phone in order to set up the radio or it will never let you do it. After that, if you play something from, the phone and pause it, it automatically goes into radio mode if you don’t have an sd card in it. It will also go back to playing the phone if you start playing again from it. So no need to press anything, but it just seems to take it’s time doing it but it does. I found out by just playing with it. I haven’t tried the sd card yet, but if you have one installed, then it will default to that instead of the radio. You can follow the instructions in the manual and they do work, but just figuring it out takes a bit of time. Even with the instructions.

-The headphones cover most of my ears but they still feel a bit small. I think they need to be just a tad larger and they would be perfect. But even with the padding my ears hurt already as I have been listening to the radio while I typed this. I just had to take them off now because of that. So they are just a bit too tight for me and there’s no other way to make them less so.

-The padding on the top of your head is just two pieces of plastic with some light foam as you can feel both pieces when you touch the edges. Not a huge deal but you can tell that these are not headphones you want to wear for too long.

Although it seems that I have more cons than pros, many are mostly minor annoyances. For me it’s how tight they are, I just can’t use them for more than moments at a time. A movie or just the news on the tv will be out of the question, they just hurt too much, even with the padding on each side. If they were not so tight, I would say these would make pretty good affordable headphones you can use for simple things like watching tv at night.

Here's what I got after taking these out of the air bag.

This is all the parts you get with these.

I took this apart to see what the foam part was. I thought it was cardboard but it's actually plastic.

Here's one of the negatives about these type of headphones, they are all plastic and if you're not careful, they will normally break at the hinges here. These would benefit from a metal/aluminum band that is a bit more flexible and not so tight on your head which these are. So although the feature set is nice, they are just not very comfortable for too long.
