Tp-Link AX-5400 Wifi 6 router

 December 14, 2023

I have been testing this router and so far it's better than my old router. It's not perfect since it still needs a bit of work in a couple of areas of what I would like to use. I'll note those under the corresponding screenshot.

Here is your login page. You can also download their app but I haven't done it yet since this works just fine and I actually like to just log in this way when I need to. It's not everyday I need to log into it so this is why this works fine for me.

After you log in, this is the page you'll see.

 The next page settings.

Here's the more of that page.

And the rest of the settings.

This is their app they suggest you download.

And the different actions you can do with it.

Here's where the side bar with the rest of the settings start.

Unfortunately there is no way I can add my own dyn dns here. It's the same two as the old router and their own now. I really like to try different ones as there are many others you can use. This is too bad because I was hoping I would use a different one.

TP-Link has it's own dyn dns that you can also get an account for.

Unfortunately I found that I can' use my usb drive I was using on the old router because they want you to use the old smb1 which makes no sense. Why can't use you the newer protocol? So unless you manually do that, you won't be able to see your drive when you do a scan which sucks.

Here are the other options for this. Again, it's of no use if you don't want to use the old protocol.

It's nice having a usb 3 port, but you can't use it unless you go back to an old protocol.
